Welcome to Islay House
Islay House has stood at the centre of this island since 1677. Set in 28 acres of gardens and woodland overlooking Loch Indaal, it remains one of the most naturally beautiful positions in the Hebrides — a historic country house that feels less like a hotel and more like somewhere you have always been welcome. Nine world-famous whisky distilleries. Scotland's most underrated golf course at The Machrie. Wild coastline, sea eagles, golden beaches. Islay House puts all of it within reach — and gives you somewhere worth coming back to at the end of the day.
Getting Here
Islay is reached by ferry from Kennacraig on the Kintyre peninsula a two-hour crossing with CalMac to Port Askaig or Port Ellen. Flights to Islay Airport operate from Glasgow. Islay House is at Bridgend, at the centre of the island, approximately 5 miles from both ferry terminals. Look for the old stone barn on the A847 at Bridgend — the entrance is marked by barn doors with two stags and the letters IH.
