Welcome to Islay House
In 1677 when Hugh Campbell, Laird of Cawdor, started building Islay House at the head of Loch Indaal, chosen as the best spot on the island, he had little idea that this would become the natural junction of the two main roads, and later still became the centre of a wheel containing nine of Scotland’s most distinctive whisky distilleries.

The safety of our guests, staff members and the community is our first priority at Islay House. In re-opening, we are open for dinner reservations giving priority to pre-booked hotel guests.
We are not currently taking Lunch or Afternoon Tea Bookings in 2022.
